It has been over a year since the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Montana and the Montana Northern-Wyoming Conference of the United Church of Christ voted to partner together for mission and ministry. Now we are sharing office space, support staff and communication ministries. Our Partnership Vision Council is up and running and we have named people to serve on our Partnership Commissions: Mission and Social Justice, Leadership Development, Conference Annual Meeting and Regional Assembly, Human Resources and Vital Church Development.
Conference Minister, Randy Hyvonen retired on October 31, 2011. I have been called to serve as the Acting Conference Minister until a new Interim Conference Minister is called.

Delegates Have Voted...

A message to the MNW Conference from Conference Minister Randy Hyvonen:

On Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010, about 135 MNWC-UCC and MT-DOC local church delegates gathered in Bozeman to worship, discern, discuss, vote, and share final event worship together at neutral space hosted by First Presbyterian church.

The results of the vote:
UCC delegates: 81% in favor of the partnership proposal

DOC delegates: 93% in favor of the partnership proposal

(The proposal's taskforce had determined in advance that unless there was a 60% vote in favor, by both denominations, the partnership would not go forward.)

The MT-DOC and MNWC-UCC have begun regional administrative partnership as of January 1, 2011.

There will be much for us to do in the days ahead, as we phase into living in new ways; so stay tuned for evolving details about how our 2 denominations throughout this region will be working together.

Please know that any questions you have, which have not yet been answered or clarified, should still be raised! We will all need to work together to make this Partnership effective for all of our 50 MNWC congregations.
